These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of bindpureshea.co.uk (the "Website") and any purchase you make from Bind. By using our Website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read them carefully. If there's anything you don't understand or don't agree with, please contact us at support@bindpureshea.co.uk before placing an order.
Bind is a small, home-based business handcrafting shea body butter in small batches, established in 2016. We are based in the United Kingdom and sell directly to consumers through our Website.
As a genuinely handmade, made-to-order product (rather than mass-produced in a factory), there are a few natural realities worth understanding upfront — covered in detail throughout these Terms — including realistic dispatch timeframes and minor natural variation between batches.
By placing an order with Bind, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or are placing the order with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. You also confirm that any payment method used belongs to you or that you have explicit permission to use it.
We make every reasonable effort to describe our products accurately, including ingredients, sizes, and scent descriptions. However, because every jar is handcrafted by hand in small batches rather than mass-manufactured:
All prices displayed on our Website are in British Pounds (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout and are not included in the product price.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. Any changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed and paid for.
Certain scents may, from time to time, carry an additional charge where the fragrance ingredients used are genuinely scarce or limited in supply. Any such surcharge will always be clearly shown on the product or scent option itself before you complete your order — you will never be charged extra without this being visible upfront. At the time of writing, no scents currently carry an additional charge; all scents are available at the standard product price.
Payment is processed securely through Stripe, a regulated third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details ourselves. Payment is taken at the time you place your order.
In the rare event a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a technical error, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund, and we'll always let you know if this happens.
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the items in your basket. We will send you an order confirmation by email once payment has been successfully processed — this confirmation marks the point at which a contract is formed between you and Bind.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion — for example, in cases of suspected fraud, an out-of-stock ingredient, or a pricing error — in which case you will receive a full refund.
Bind offers a recurring "Subscribe & Save" option on selected products, with a choice of delivery frequency (currently every 2 weeks, monthly, or every 2 months), each carrying a discount off the standard price.
By starting a subscription, you authorise us to automatically charge your payment method, via our payment processor Stripe, at the start of each new delivery cycle, using the same discounted price agreed to at signup. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe under their own security standards — the same as for one-off orders.
The same 14-day right to cancel described in "Right to Cancel" below applies to the initial subscription signup itself. To cancel an ongoing subscription at any point after that (stopping future renewals), please email support@bindpureshea.co.uk — we do not currently offer a self-service cancellation option, and will confirm your cancellation by email once processed.
If a scheduled payment cannot be successfully collected (for example, an expired card), Stripe will attempt to process the payment again automatically. If payment continues to be unsuccessful, your subscription may be paused or cancelled, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email if this happens.
We currently deliver within the United Kingdom via Royal Mail. Available delivery options and associated costs are shown clearly at checkout.
Because every order is handcrafted rather than picked from existing stock, please allow 1–2 business days for your order to be prepared before it is dispatched, in addition to the delivery timeframe selected at checkout (e.g. Standard, Express, or Next Day).
Note: the delivery timeframe selected at checkout (e.g. Standard, Express, Next Day) refers only to the courier's delivery speed once your order has been dispatched — it does not affect how long your order takes to prepare beforehand. Because each product is handmade to order, preparation may occasionally take longer than the standard 1–2 business days, for example where a batch requires additional curing, setting, or cooling time. This does not entitle the customer to a refund, discount, or compensation on the basis of preparation time alone.
Ownership of your order passes to you once it has been delivered to the address provided at checkout. Please ensure your delivery address and contact details are accurate — we are not responsible for non-delivery caused by incorrect address information provided by you.
While we take care to package every order securely, occasional delays caused by the courier are outside our control. If your order doesn't arrive within a reasonable time of the estimated delivery window, please contact us and we will help investigate.
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers ordering online generally have the right to cancel an order within 14 days without giving a reason.
Please note: this right may not apply to goods that are made to order or personalised, or to goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly — categories which handcrafted, made-to-order cosmetic products such as ours may fall under. We recommend contacting us as soon as possible after ordering if you wish to cancel, and we will always try to find a fair resolution. This section is provided as general guidance and should not be treated as a definitive legal statement of your rights in every circumstance.
If your order has not yet been dispatched, please email us immediately at support@bindpureshea.co.uk and we will do our best to cancel it before it's prepared.
Due to the handcrafted and perishable nature of our products, and for hygiene reasons relating to cosmetic goods, we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds once an order has been dispatched. However, you may be eligible for a free replacement if:
If any of the above apply, please contact us at support@bindpureshea.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery, including photos where possible, and we will send you a free replacement at no extra cost to you.
This policy does not affect your other statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
Results from using our products may vary from person to person. By purchasing from Bind, you acknowledge and accept these usage guidelines.
Full ingredient lists (in INCI format) are available on our Website and on every product label. It is your responsibility to review these carefully before purchasing or using our products, particularly if you have known allergies or sensitivities to any ingredient, including but not limited to shea butter, nut-derived oils, or essential oils used in our scented ranges.
If you are uncertain whether a product is suitable for you, please contact us before purchasing, or choose our Unscented range, which contains the fewest added ingredients.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited under UK law — including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to the above, Bind's total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses.
We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to courier delays, extreme weather, supply shortages of raw ingredients, or other circumstances beyond our control.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business or legal requirements. The version published on this page at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
